John E. Stockmeyer, CLAA

Mr. Stockmeyer is a Certified Louisiana Associate Assessor (CLAA). He earned his masters degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans. With fifteen years of experience and the former Executive Vice President for a local ad valorem tax consulting firm, Mr. Stockmeyer brings vast expertise in the areas of directing assessment review, real estate appeal preparation, product development and quality control. He has personally represented over half of the Class “A” office space in south Louisiana saving, literally, millions of dollars in real estate taxes for institutional clients and local ownership interests. Additionally, Mr. Stockmeyer has represented, for property tax purposes, over 60% of the hotel rooms in Downtown New Orleans, saving millions for his clients through an extensive sampling and compilation of weighted averages.

Conducting an annual written survey of the Metro New Orleans hotel rates and office market rental rates has provided Mr. Stockmeyer with extensive knowledge in the valuation of hotels and office buildings. His survey results are deemed extremely reliable by virtue of the 65% response rate and his interpretations and graphic illustrations have been used by property managers and appeal boards as a barometer for valuation. He has been quoted in the publications “Southeast Real Estate News”, “The Times-Picayune” and “New Orleans CityBusiness”.
