New Orleans’ 2015 Tax Bills

December 15, 2014

The Orleans Parish Board of Review certified the assessment roll in late October and several weeks ago the City Council finalized its budget and approved the 2015 tax rate. After a 6.42% increase in the net taxable assessment roll, the tax rate has remained relatively flat.  The overall citywide rate on the eastbank is 148.67 mils with the westbank being 149.56 mils.  The slight change came via a .1 (1/10th) mil reduction in the Law Enforcement District.  The Downtown Development District (DDD) rate remains unchanged at 14.76 mils resulting in an overall rate of 163.43 mils for real estate located in the DDD.

The 2015 Orleans Parish tax bills are expected to be mailed over course of the next two weeks and you should be receiving them shortly.  They become delinquent if they are not paid by February 1, 2015.  When you receive them, please feel free to send them our way for review.

Real Estate Tax Group may have outstanding and pending appeals on certain of your property and when we receive the tax bill, we will reach out to you directly with specific payment instructions about how these should be handled and how we will assist.

In the meantime, have a Happy Holiday Season and New Year.
