Karl Kehoe has over 24 years of experience in property tax consulting. He is a Co-founder of Real Estate Tax Group, LLC, and prior to such was a Sr. Property Tax Consultant with a regional property tax consulting firm where he oversaw the product development and implementation of state and local tax incentive programs. He currently represents for Real Estate Tax Group, approximately 30% of the metro New Orleans area hotels in matters of property tax valuation, assessment appeal and personal property filing compliance.
His expertise includes ad valorem tax appeal and consulting in addition to state and local tax incentive program procurement. Mr. Kehoe has secured Enterprise Zone tax credits, rebates and property tax abatements for some of the largest redevelopments to occur in New Orleans, totaling well over $500 million. Some notable redevelopment projects include the Roosevelt Hotel, the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, Marriott Convention Center, Monteleone Hotel and Hyatt French Quarter. Other commercial property types for which credits and abatements have been secured are multifamily low income housing tax credit (LIHTC) developments, office property conversions and other commercial property types.
Mr. Kehoe is a Notary Public, having received his life time commission in and for the Parish of Orleans, State of Louisiana. He holds the designation of Certified Louisiana Associate Assessor (CLAA), is an active member of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) and a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT). He has been a recurring guest lecturer on the topic of tax incentives for Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business and has been a regularly featured speaker before the Greater New Orleans Chapter of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP). He received a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Philosophy in 1990, and an MBA with Finance Concentration in 2000 from the University of New Orleans, New Orleans, LA.
